Step-Up Champions earn 20% commission on the purchase amount every time somebody buys through their own link or QR code. You work from home, on your own hours, and we provide the training, help and guidance to get you selling.

What you can earn
The full R1,500 is not automatic. National Youth Service (NYS) funds it for Champions selected onto the programme, and there are only 80 places. Your 20% commission is the part every Champion earns, from the first sale, with no programme needed.
How you actually get paid
As a Champion you have your own personal referral link and a matching QR code. Send the link in a WhatsApp, or let somebody scan the code in front of you.
Tickets cost R10 at most, so it is an easy yes. The sale is tied to your code wherever they buy from.
You get 20% of what they spend. Every sale through your code counts. The more people you reach, the more you earn.
You are not starting from zero
Step-Up already reaches a large South African audience. People have seen us. When you send your link, you are sharing something they may already know, so you spend less time explaining and more time selling.
What you are selling
Step-Up is an online competitions company that raises funds for charities across South Africa. Tickets are never more than R10, and 85% of net proceeds goes to the benefiting cause. Our current competition funds Hout Bay United Football Community's youth development programmes.
Step-Up promotes registered society lottery schemes and is registered with the National Lotteries Commission, NLC 00268. Based in Hout Bay, Cape Town.
Apply, get your link and QR code, and start sharing. You earn 20% of the ticket price on your very first sale. There is no test to pass, no fee, and no waiting to be appointed.
Tell us you want to go further and we invite you to an online interview about your goals and your area. There are 80 places on a rolling intake, so they open as they open.
Once you are approved, you join a training day in a team of twenty, either at our base in Hout Bay, Cape Town, or online if you cannot travel. We open your African Bank account on the day, and your NYS stipend is paid into it.
Being a Champion is free and you earn your 20% from the very first sale, with no programme needed. National Youth Service is the step beyond it: complete the application, be approved, and you can earn up to R1,500 a month for six months.
Six months in
Move from selling to individuals into selling into businesses, where the order sizes are bigger and the relationships last longer.
Bring new charities, clubs and community organisations onto the platform and help them run their own fundraising competition.
Learn the regulated side of the business: licence administration, compliance and the reporting that keeps a society lottery legal.
Progression is offered on performance. It is not automatic, and it is not promised to everyone who is appointed.
National Youth Service
Our most successful Champions are put forward for the National Youth Service programme. NYS funds up to R1,500 a month for six months, paid straight into your African Bank account. There are 80 places on a rolling intake, so they open as they open. You have to earn one.
The full amount is not automatic. Part of it depends on meeting a monthly sales target. We go through that target with you in person before you start, and how it is reviewed each month, so you know from the outset what the programme expects of you.
For NYS and partner organisations
Step-Up Champions is a work-from-home sales programme for South Africans of any age, run from Hout Bay, Cape Town, by an NLC-registered competitions company that raises funds for charity. It is built around the community-service outcomes of the National Youth Service.
Targets, not results
These are projections we are working towards, not results we have already delivered. Nobody should apply expecting them as a promise.
We will report against these as real numbers exist.
Open to South Africans of any age. No ID needed to start as a Champion, and it takes a few minutes.
