Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the Step-Up website. By using this site, buying a ticket, or creating an account you agree to these terms. Each competition is additionally governed by its official Competition Terms and Conditions ("Competition Terms"), published on the competition page. If anything in these Terms of Service conflicts with the Competition Terms, the Competition Terms prevail for that competition.
This website is operated by Step Up Competitions (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2025/929384/07), a private company wholly owned by the Hout Bay United Football Community Trust.

Our competitions are society lotteries promoted on behalf of the Hout Bay United Football Community (NPO 165406), whose society registration with the National Lotteries Commission is 00268/01. Each competition runs under its own registered scheme number, shown on the competition page. For the current competition: Society Lottery Scheme is registered with National Lotteries Commission (NLC. 00268/02).
The majority of net proceeds from each competition go to the benefiting society. The exact allocation for each competition is set out in its Competition Terms.
Competitions are open only to natural persons who are 18 years or older at the time of purchase and ordinarily resident in South Africa. The following people may not enter: anyone connected with the creation or administration of Step-Up competitions, including directors, employees, agents and consultants of Step Up Competitions (Pty) Ltd and of the benefiting society, the independent draw overseer, and the immediate family members of any of these. Purchases by ineligible persons are void under the Competition Terms.
By buying a ticket you confirm that you meet these requirements. We may require proof of age, identity and residency before paying any prize.
Because our competitions are registered society lotteries, the Lotteries Act does not permit the refund of money paid for a valid ticket, and all ticket sales are final. Refunds are made only where no valid entry ever existed: a purchase made after the competition closed, a failed or duplicate payment, or a competition cancelled before its draw. See our Refund Policy for details.
Our competitions are for entertainment. Please play responsibly and only spend what you can afford. If you feel you may have a gambling problem, contact the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation's toll-free counselling line on 0800 006 008.
How we collect and use personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy. Buying a ticket does not opt you in to marketing: we only send marketing communications if you have opted in, or as otherwise permitted by law, and every message includes a way to opt out.
You may not use this site fraudulently or unlawfully, interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, use automated tools to buy tickets, or enter on behalf of another person or an ineligible person. We may void entries and refuse service where we reasonably believe this section has been breached, subject to the Competition Terms.
All content on this site, including logos, text, images and graphics, belongs to Step Up Competitions (Pty) Ltd or its licensors and may not be reproduced without written permission.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability or consumer right that cannot be excluded or limited under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, and our total liability in connection with a competition is limited to the amount you paid for your tickets in that competition.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes apply from the date they are published on this page. The Competition Terms applicable to a competition you have already entered will not be changed to your detriment except as required by the NLC or the law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the South African courts. Questions about these terms: [email protected], or write to us at The Dream Factory, 6 Riverside Terrace, Hout Bay, Western Cape, 7806.
